DAVID MOIR

DIRECTOR

With a remarkable career spanning more than 25 years, David is an esteemed professional, Director and Principal Landscape Architect with extensive knowledge in the field of design, urban placemaking and revitalisation, inclusive play design, vegetation and habitat management and Landscape and Visual Impact assessment. He has been directly involved in over 2000 projects throughout Australia, Asia, and the Middle East and is the current President of the Australian Institute of Landscape Architects, NSW.

Since founding Moir in 2001 David has led the design and implementation of several key projects in some of the Newcastle’s most iconic locations including Lake Macquarie Variety all-abilities Playground at Speers Point, Merewether Baths Renewal and Richley Reserve Playground at Blackbutt. David also has a rich history of delivering projects in regional communities and with an in-depth understanding of the cultural values associated with landscapes across the eastern states, David is an experienced resource for consultation and assisting clients in responding to the needs of communities.

David is a well-respected professional and has established Moir as a market leader in the field of Visual Impact Assessment. With over 15 years of experience in this sector, David has provided expert witness and advice on hundreds of state-significant proposals for large scale infrastructure projects in the renewable energy sector. David’s unique expertise in this field has made him a valuable resource for the Department of Planning and Environment where he regularly consults on draft policies and guidelines; constantly helping to improve the way projects are evaluated.
