Moir Landscape Architecture were commissioned by Stronach Constructions Newcastle to provide concept design through to issue of practical completion certificate for a Commercial Centre at Watt Street, Newcastle.
In response to the local climate and water sensitive urban design, we designed a xeriscape garden, selected local, coastal plant species to minimize the requirements of water and maintenance.
A water tank was installed to collect rainwater from the building’s rooftop with the water runoff directed towards the planting area and a specified drip-line irrigation system for planter boxes as a best practice for water sensitivity.
Upon completion the project received positive feedback from the local community.
