Waterford County is a 2,000 residential lot subdivision in Chisholm, NSW with an overall site area of approximately 242 ha.

Moir Landscape Architecture were engaged to provide the concept design through to construction administration for the development which contains generous amounts of open space.  A large parkland systems runs through the core of the estate, centred around the 6 basins of ephemeral wetland planting. The design included cycleways, passive open space, playgrounds, fitness stations, shelters, seating, entry features and sculptural artistic elements and streetscapes theme that rapidly formed a unique and identifiable character for the estate.

We worked with the client and local Artist Jamie Sargeant to develop a unique sculptural entry that creates a strong sense of arrival. The entry establishes the dragonfly theme of the estate which is reflected internally through the naming of the streets and playgrounds.

The entry feature consists of twelve large Corten feature walls that are set into an existing slope on either side of the entry road with feature planting and lighting.
