Moir Landscape Architecture were engaged by the Hills Shire Council to produce a sports complex master plan for the former world-class Horseworld equestrian site located in Maraylya, North Western Sydney.
The site was identified for its potential to become a premier sporting centre within the Hills Shire Local Government Area as it has the capacity to service the 30,000 extra residents expected to live in the area by 2036.
Our vision for the master plan was to respond to the needs of a rapidly changing sporting landscape. The focus throughout was on recreation, leisure, and forging a connection with the natural environment.
Our plan incorporates a multi-court basketball/gym facility, two multi-use sporting fields, and a sprinting track. It also includes an outdoor fitness activity trail, skate park, pump track, expansive parklands, and cycle tracks linked to proposed adjoining developments.
