Working with Canterbury City Council, Moir Landscape Architecture transformed the regional-scale Anzac Park in Campsie into a vibrant city playground which caters for all ages and abilities. Our role in the project was to provide detailed design and tender documentation.
The design integrates a hide and seek garden with natural materials and imaginative play elements to encourage non-prescriptive play. A fishing rod and boat were also included to represent a creek line that once ran through the site.
To attract older children to the playground, we included two landmark features: a large scale octa-net and a giant swing.
Since the upgrade, visitor numbers have increased, and the community has embraced the space. People have been interacting with the creative elements, and using the facilities for group gatherings.
